Design your own Eliza B. shoes

If you have ever been frustrated by the limited availability of patterns and fabrics of ballet flats, here is a perfect opportunity - custom made Allez! Ballet Flats from Eliza B..

Choose your own fabric, trim and sole. There is a seemingly endless array of combinations. I have tried four variations. Here is variation one.

This combination, Natural Canvas, Black Patent Leather Trim with a (Black) Leather Sole, works particularly well for both business as well as evening. These shoes are flattering, run true to size, and best of all, are made at the Leatherman Ltd./Eliza B. company headquarters in Essex, Connecticut (from whom I have been buying for decades).

Fantastic! Love that you can design your own and LOVE that they are made in Connecticut. My home state :-)

Wonderful! I have a dreadful time finding suitable flat shoes, and at 5'9 1/2", I don't like teetering around in heels when I meet clients.

Love your Bermuda Pink Vera....got mine right when they came out & last year my oldest Meredith took it over for her school book bag so now it's wearing out fast. Every girl at her school uses Vera for their totes. It's fun to see the myriad of patterns when I do carpool pickup...

Tickled Pink and Green - I do love the Bermuda Pink. I bought a lot of it and am so glad I did! I love the image of all those school totes!

I have recently found their website and want to order several pairs of flats. Before doing so though, I was wondering how comfortable you think they are...are they good for a couple of hours or would you feel comfortable walking in them all day?

Muffy, I cannot seem to find the very classy natural canvas with black trim flats that you are sporting. Do they not offer it anymore or perhaps only certain times of the year?

On an unrelated note, my parents were both raised in the "prep" culture and even after moving to the midwest (why, oh why, I kept crying out to them through my turbulent teens), they raised us in much the same way despite our location. Have you any advice for a struggling "prep" girl in the Midwest? All things labeled "prep" here do not have the originality I am accustomed to from the E. Coast.

Thanks so much for your musings and suggestions - I thoroughly enjoy your blog!

theladypirate - Looking back on my paperwork, all it says is "Natural Canvas" with Black Patent Trim and Leather Heel. I did not see it either on their site. But I would definitely call them at 800-243-6681.
