Today I needed something that could take me from the beach to a less casual setting as my husband and I celebrated our twentieth wedding anniversary.
My Cape Madras Bermuda Shorts did this seamlessly. I love everything about these shorts. They are beautifully made, comfortable to wear and soften with age.
These shorts have always, and deliberately, been sized generously. I opted for my regular size and simply put them in the dryer, shrinking them to a perfect fit.

The pattern is St. Tropez.

As I left the beach, all I had to do was change my shoes and add a Lilly cardigan.

Happy Anniversary!
I love the Cape Madras products - I own several of their skirts, and I love how they get softer as you wash them! Happy Anniversary to you and your husband!
Congratulations to both you and your husband. Lovely post, by the by, keep up the nice work.
A very happy anniversary to you!
Happy Anniversary and Clark! I'm probably speaking for a lot of your readers when I say you seem like old and dear friends because of your wonderful blog.
These would look good with your pink Birkenstocks!
Happy Anniversary!
Happy anniversary!
Congrats Muffy
I must know, what are those darling pink shoes you are wearing. I love them!
Thanks
Happy Anniversary, Muffy!
Lovely pictures, lovely thoughts, and best wishes for many, many more anniversaries! I'm so glad that madras has come back into fashion.
@Anonymous - The shoes were made by Angela Moore which I bought about eight years ago from a Lilly store. I don't believe she offers them any more.
Happy Anniversary!!!
Bonne Anniversaire!
Way to go....20 years is definitely a mile stone. What is the 20th anniversary? You know how certain anniversaries are paper, bronze, silver, gold......what is the 20th?
Loving those Cape Madras shorts. I just bought a new golf skirt, can't wait to try it out. It won't help my game, but at least I'll look good while I fail miserably.
20 years and you still date. That is the coolest thing in the world.
Happy Anniversary.
Muff - I am about to place an order for the CM Camp Shorts for my wife. Should I size down on those?
@Anonymous - I did not have to size down on the Camp Shorts. But I also do not put them in the dryer.
Dear Muffy,
Happy anniversary!
A bit off topic, but I have an etiquette. I was taught from childhood to respond, "How do you do" when meeting someone for the first time, never "nice/pleased to meet you." Certainly never anything like, "Well, it was great to meet you" or "Have a nice day." However, some friends say I come off very formal, off-putting or rude, as few people use "How do you do" any longer and rarely rise for a handshake/introduction.
What do you suggest as a proper response to social introductions in these modern (vulgar) times?
Really enjoying your blog.

lovely photos...happy anniversary!
@Anonymous - I am a strictly "How do you do" kind of person.
