My Mother in 1944

My Mother in 1944, on the Mail Boat crossing Winnipesaukee
I stumbled across a stack of photographs from over 65 years ago that I had never seen before.  So many of the outfits and hair styles shown were vintage and amusingly dated.  But this one of my mother while at the cottage struck me as having a contemporary feel.  It re-affirmed why I like the classics so much.

She is lovely and you inherited not only her beauty but her authentic, ageless sense of style. Thanks for sharing!

What a wonderful photo. I am sure it brings a smile to your face each time you see it.

She's just gorgeous -- and it looks like it could have been taken 10 minutes ago. I think that's why I love the classics, too! Thank you for sharing this!

With just a blink of an eye, she would come to life, sitting right in front of you. Lovely.

Muffy,
Very classy photo of your Mom!
As a child I remember visiting Lake Winnipesaukee, my parents had friends who owned a cottage on one the islands there! They also owned one of those old mahogany Chris Craft powerboats, a real "On Golden Pond" like summer adventure.

I really enjoy these posts, more so than the clothing ones. A lovely picture of an attractive woman.
