While Sampson. now 11, still likes the jump (as he did when he was younger)...
...and tolerates the plunge....
...what he really loves in the pool is to be held.

We caught a hen looking guilty as she laid where she was not suppose to.
And we visited a friend and took some pictures for her to send home to Scotland.

Muffy,
Your animals are most amusing. Also kudos on the lovely capture of these summer moments.

Sampson looks like my kind of dog. I like to be in the pool all the time too during the summer. I don't dive as well as he does though, diving was never my strong suit. I avoid jumping in at all costs, it is not a pretty sight.
I love that the hens are content to hang out just about anywhere.
I'm still looking for a Golden...haven't found the right one yet. I'll know him or her when I find them.
I really like your chickens having the run of the property. Guess you have to be careful where you sit though.
Thank you so much for the smile and the chuckle. I love these little snippets of your life.
Sampson is a handsome pet and so, so smart! :-) My cat gets the same guilty look when she relaxes in a "NO" spot. xoxo
It is so sweet that Sampson likes to be held in the pool!
I confess-I have a pool fetish.
Did the hen actually drop an egg in the chair?
Muffy, love these pictures. I chuckled at you holding your dog. Field dogs are the best! I can't seem to get my lab out of the water!
This old dog is digging the chicks at the pool:-)
@Izzy - Thank you, Izzy!
@Susan R - I don't let anyone dive. Probably the reason for the message on the towel! I'll bet your Golden will love the pool!
@Sarah - Always!
@lorrwill - You're very sweet. Thank you.
@Preppy 101 - He's a little operator!
@Miss M - He loves it so, and as soon as one person's arms get too tired, he is on to the next.
@YWP - Absolutely! In fact, for whatever reason it is the most coveted spot and noisily fought over, which can be amusing until there is a business call.
@Judy W - Field dogs are indeed. We've had several breeds and I have loved them all.
@j.mosby - Now that's humor!!
Beautiful hen, despite the mischief!
Our Golden, Tucker is the same way! He swims and swims but the second you grab him, goes completely limp and loves being held. I think he misses the days before he was 95lbs!
