Just Madras Grace Beach Bag

This Just Madras tote has quickly become one of my favorite summer bags.  It is perfect when something more festive is needed than canvas or luggage.

One of the many things I like about it is it's roominess, which is perfect for island house overnights.
Pink and White Striped Seersucker Lining and Rope Handles (and a last minute gift picked up on the big island)
Just Madras is a Connecticut company where everything is made in America.

Good looking and well made (the bag, that is), it comes in handy when plans are a bit delayed.

why is it you look so wonderful around water? Could it be you're at your happiest?

I have the same bag and I love it!!

Oh, how I love this bag and its lining! I thought my Eliza B madras tote was nice, but this is even prettier! (And I'd give anything to be sitting by the water myself right now -- I'd be happy too!)

I adore it! Such a great size + cuteness factor ;-). You have a gorgeous smile. XOXO

I love my Just Madras bag also! I run a nursery school and my teachers gave it to me as a gift and I bought the matching tunic...great for carrying towels, books and needlepoint at the shore.

After the reviews you've done both on the shorts and now on this tote bag, it may be a company I consider next summer.

Despite the heat wave, I'm already thinking about fall. The time to put away the madras will come sooner than we think!

@James - Well, Mr. Charming....no venue I'd rather be.

@Hannah - How fun!

@Anonymous - I find the lining hard to resist, and I love the combination of seersucker and madras.

@Preppy 101 - I like your equation! And thank you.

@Margaret - What a great gift! They must really like you.

@Kionon - The shorts I have are from Cape Madras. I have yet to try the shorts from Just Madras. The clock is indeed ticking on this madras, but I couldn't help but notice that they have some items in more Fall-like palettes and patterns...

@AshTreeCottage - I am always on the lookout for that combination of Made in the USA and high quality.

That is a great tote, and wonderful photos. I picked up a large madras L.L. Bean Boat and Tote a few years back (the good color scheme is no longer sold) and I love it, but I love this bag even better.

I bought the smaller handbag this spring and love it too. It looks great with my "uniform" of a blue shirt and khakis...adds a bit of a feminine touch.

Have to say how much I enjoy your blog. So many these days seem to focus solely on the constant acquisition of new things. Sometimes I wonder if those bloggers do anything but shop and spend money made by someone else. It seems apparent your whole life doesn't revolve around shopping for the sake of shopping and "keeping up with the (internet) Joneses".

Cheers and enjoy a lovely August weekend.

@Annica Benning - Even the two end pockets are lined with the pink seersucker.

@j.mosby - You are always so kind, and I am always so appreciative.

@Anonymous - I remember that color scheme, and I also remember I waited too long!

@Sarah - I agree, there has to be a balance. People will always need to buy things, and the challenge is to find items that you not only like but are well made and will last. It is ironic as much as I like my "things", I really do not like to shop.

I recently ordered a great dress from them in the Marblehead fabric. They made it specially for me with two extra inches on the hem and popped it in the mail one or two days later. Hopefully I'll add a bag next year!

This is a great looking tote - from stem to stern. The rope handles are awesome.

Public Service Announcement: I am on their email list and received notification this morning that Just Madras is having an end of summer blow out sale starting today.

You always look so pretty. The book in your bag caught my eye. I just ordered it and am looking forward to an interesting read.

How nice! I adore my Jack Rogers... just like a Lilly dress, you will never tire of them nor will they ever go out of style! You just cover all the preppy basics :)
