I'm always excited to learn an interesting historical fact or two and this was a great story. Makes sense. Some of the best cheese comes out of Vermont. Have you ever tried Dubliner? It's an Irish Cheddar. I buy it from Costco. It's wonderful.
Calvin Coolidge was of my Father's favorite presidents. Dad read his biography. We visited his birth place. Coolidge was known to be a man of few words. It was once told to me that he went to church one Sunday while his wife remained at home, ill. Upon his return she asked what the minister spoke about. "Sin" was his answer. "What did he have to say about it?" "He was against it" Coolidge answered.
Jack Kennedy smack in the middle of the Green in New Haven. Happy Fourth a day later.
I find the contrast of two very different kinds of Presidents so fascinating especially given that both hailed from New England.
It's well over 35 years ago, but I have vivid memories of visiting the Coolidge birthplace (still remember the front porch), cheese company, and Morgan horse farm on a family vacation. Thank you for this!
