A domestic cat...

“Somehow there seemed an element of embarrassment in addressing on equal terms a domestic cat of acknowledged mental ability.”

Hector Hugh Munro (Saki), Tobermory, 1909

What a fantastic photograph -- I believe we've seen this lovely feline before.

Dear Muffy, I can't think of many who would quote Saki (or even know of him for that matter), but he is still one of the wittiest and most elegant writers. He once wrote that tailors are terrible people because they remember what you owe them for a suit long after you've stopped wearing it.

My best, Bruce Boyer

I wonder how many dogs look at the water, then look at the cat and think, "nah."

In May 2011 we lost our dear black cat, a few days later our beloved lab passed. In June of 2011 our basement flooded when our water heated leaked and thus began a 14 top to bottom remodel of our modest home. This weekend we will adopt 2 new cats into our lives. A new puppy will soon follow.

As my father-in-law commented, "it's really nice of you to spend $XX,XXXX on your home to get it ready for the new members of your family".

What a pretty cat! Sadly, this past Friday we lost our beautiful 19 year old kitty; old and ill and loved dearly. The remaining critters and humans are taking it hard. --Holly in PA
